Lakai :: Fully Flared Intro T-Shirts

A little while ago we featured the Lakai Fully Flared” skate video, which contains hands down, the greatest intro to any skate video ever. The video has suddenly inspired a series of t-shirts as they incorporate scenes from the intro. The intro (seen after the jump) features a slow-motion progression with prolific explosions as captured by the t-shirts. Also, check out the rest of the t-shirts after the jump as well.

Alphanumeric Collectors Decks

Alphanumeric Collector Decks

Alphanumeric is back with the same bold graphics and provocative statements which earned them many accolades at the turn of the century. With a series of experienced people at the helm, this comes as no surprise as their love for cornerstones of culture such as music and knowledge have translated into their design work and branched out into mixtapes. The first deck seen above is the Calculus Deck illustrating a monogram of math symbols. The second deck seen above is the Stacks Deck which revolves around piles of vinyl records. Stay tuned for availability of these exclusive decks.

Element Skateboards :: Push Series Decks

Element Push DecksElement Push Series

Element Skateboards furthers the evolution of the skateboard deck with their new Push Construction Positive Negative Series.

The Push Deck is a skateboarding paradox. Lighter than any other deck, it’s also more durable.

This innovative structure is a result of the combination of the responsiveness and power of carbon fiber with the durability of Element’s own featherlight helium construction (i.e. there’s air inside). The upshot is a deck that sets a new standard for high-impact skateboarders. Bloggers have even gone as far as to call it “indestructible.”

The designs, the “Darrell”, the “Muska”, and the “Tave,” are the first three to be released in the Positive Negative series. We’re fans for the way the brand is reinventing skateboard construction while staying true to eco-friendly values. The wood is a result of responsible foresting; only selectively harvested trees are used in these decks.

The premium deck runs $79 and there are still a few designs in stock on Element’s website.

“Hollarado”

William Spencer, a grom from Colorado, has signed a deal with MTV to develop a skateboarding stunt series based on his clips on YouTube. It’s the best example we’ve heard yet of a YouTube-to-TV success story; a guy gets picked up to do exactly what he does on YouTube — no changing his act, no guest roles on an existing show, no hosting a online clip show — on a major cable network. The deal was brokered by talent agency ICM, which took Spencer as a client after finding him on YouTube.

Spencer has won a following for his undeniable talent and creative tricks — see the video embedded above where he jumps off buildings onto a skateboard, skates over cars, up walls, and onto other skateboards.

The show, currently being called “Hollarado” (Holla + Colorado), is in the process of being cast in Colorado, and is supposed to air next year. It will follow Spencer and a cast of friends as they challenge each other to perform better and crazier tricks.
